An economist predicts 6 leva per liter of fuel

According to him, Bulgaria uses almost entirely Russian oil, but this does not affect the prices of the speakers

Fuel prices in our country have reached new highs – the gas ran out 3,40 leva. Almost 3,60 leva reaches the price of diesel. According to economist Mihail Krastev, fuel prices can reach much higher values – even to 6 leva. And from 2023 Mr. we are likely to pay 5 BGN per liter.

He pointed, that it may turn out, that the new indicators through 2023 year will cause a greater appreciation. “We can reach a price of over 5 leva per liter of fuel. One of the reasons is the EU's new fuel excise policy – so far it was on 1000 liter of fuel, and from now on – as an energy value. This will result in an increase of over 1 BGN for mass fuels. In the case of propane-butane and methane, even a much greater growth will be reached”, he explained.

According to him, Bulgaria uses almost entirely Russian oil, but this does not affect the prices of the speakers. The reason – no diversification of sources, nor at the fuel depots. “Until consumption decreases, prices will rise”, Krastev is categorical.
