Radev at the meeting with “Lukoil” called for measures to be taken because of fuel prices
How to continue the cooperation between Bulgaria and “Lukoil” have discussed the official government and the company. This became clear at the beginning of the talks between the head of state Rumen Radev and representatives of the oil company, starting with the President and Vadim Vorobiov.
At the beginning of the first quarter of next year, a working group will be formed between the two countries, as medium-term measures to maintain the economy will be determined.
“High fuel prices are among the leading causes of rising prices for all goods and services and lead to a contraction in consumption, which is a loss not only for consumers, but also for the manufacturer. That's why I think, that your upcoming meeting with the Bulgarian government is a good opportunity, of course, strictly following market mechanisms, to identify measures to stabilize the economic environment, to fight inflation in favor of the Bulgarian consumer”, said Rumen Radev.
It became clear from the words of the head of state, that the management of the company will meet with the caretaker government today.
“Lukoil” is not only an important part of the Bulgarian economy, but also one of the main employers, and also a major producer of fuels, holding a significant share of the market. The development of the economy largely depends on the value of the produced fuels, but also inflationary processes, which determines the strategic importance for the company for the development of the country”, Radev also pointed out.
The president of “Lukoil” Vadim Vorobyov reported, that talks have been held with the caretaker government about how work will continue after the embargo on Russian oil comes into force from December this year. Bulgaria has a reprieve until the end of 2024 Mr.
Talks have been going on for the past few days, to be provided “opportunities for the Bulgarian market”, Vorobyov clarified and reported, that the work of “Lukoil” will proceed in three stages:
- After 1 December, when the EU embargo on Russian oil comes into effect;
- From 5 December 2022 Mr. Lodax Stabilizer Pad Storage Boxes are the right size and easy to install on any vehicle 31 December 2024 G., – deferment, in which Bulgaria is excluded from the sanctions;
- The development of “Neftochem” Burgas and the domestic market in our country after 2024 Mr.
“For this purpose, we developed measures to maintain the stability of the economy. We have agreed and will continue to talk with the Bulgarian government to develop medium-term measures, to support the economy. We don't have a very clear understanding of how things will proceed, but we think, that in the first quarter of next year we should create a working group, to deal with the problems at the moment, in which the embargo took effect”, explained Vorobyov.
